The Freshmen Year at Benedictine Academy is an intense and demanding 11-month program designed to prepare a young woman to be successful in her high school years.  The phase begins with a two day orientation program.  The 50 freshmen from 10 or more towns, 20 or more schools, and many different cultural and economic backgrounds begin the challenge of discovering community that will characterize their class for the next four years and beyond.  Getting to know the other freshmen, learning to work with each other, and developing bonds of sisterhood are extremely important during this phase.

The Orientation Phase is then followed by an extensive 2 week Academic Phase, where students focus on Math, English and Science.

During this phase, freshmen meet faculty members and older students, discover Benedictine’s proud history and traditions and enjoy the good feeling of having met sisters for life.

Incoming Freshmen are required to complete Summer Assignments.  Although the summer holiday is a time for rest and relaxation we also want to position students to exercise their intellectual skills in the context of academic requirements. Research clearly indicates that students lose important skills and content through lack of use over the summer months. We would like to limit that loss. It is in this spirit that Benedictine Academy has summer math and reading requirements for students. These requirements are briefly outlined below.

ALL FORMS are available at the bottom of this page.  We ask that you print them and make sure to have your daughter bring them on the first day of Freshmen Orientation.

Benedictine Academy’s dress code requires that students wear uniforms purchased from Flynn O'Hara Uniform Company.  The uniform for girls consists of a uniform polo and skirt.  A more detailed description of the Student Dress Code can be found in our Student Handbook.
